Lead Renovator Certification

Initial Certification (8 hours)

Required for anyone performing renovations, repairs, or painting in pre-1978 housing or child-occupied facilities. EPA mandated since April 22, 2010. Non-certified individuals face fines up to $41,056 per day.

Refresher Course (4 hours)

Required renewal course for individuals who have previously completed Lead Renovator Initial Certification in compliance with EPA RRP Rule.

Lead Abatement Supervisor

Initial Certification (32 hours)

Comprehensive training for supervisors overseeing abatement projects. Covers site preparation, contract planning, project management, abatement implementation and record-keeping.

Refresher Course (8 hours)

Essential refresher training to maintain Lead Abatement Supervisor certification and stay current with regulations.

Lead Abatement Worker

Initial Certification (16 hours)

Two-day course for workers performing lead-based paint abatement. EPA requires certified workers under certified supervisor direction to avoid heavy fines.

Refresher Course (8 hours)

One-day recertification course for individuals certified as Lead Workers to maintain their credentials.

Lead Inspector

Initial Certification (24 hours)

Three-day comprehensive course for professionals performing lead-based paint inspections and clearance examinations. Focuses on legal issues and obligations.

Refresher Course (8 hours)

One-day refresher covering legal obligations and current regulatory guidelines for lead hazard identification.

Lead Risk Assessor

Initial Certification (16 hours)

Two-day course for professionals performing Risk Assessment and Lead Hazard Screening services. Includes on-site inspection, sampling, hazard assessment, and elimination strategies. Requires Lead Inspector certification as prerequisite.

Refresher Course (8 hours)

One-day refresher course reviewing essential material for Risk Assessment and Lead Hazard Screening services with real-world applications.

LBP Supervisor

Initial Certification (32 hours)

Four-day course that covers: government regulations; management of workers; health effects of lead exposure; personal protective equipment; compliance laws; abatement methods; legal knowledge for employers; clearance levels and achievement; and hands on training.

Refresher Course (8 hours)

One-day recertification course for individuals certified as LBP Supervisors to maintain their credentials and stay current with regulations.

Important Course Information:

  • • All courses start at 8 AM and end at 5 PM unless other arrangements are made
  • • Courses must have a minimum of 4 students to meet outside Davidson County
  • • Cancelled course attendance on day of course: 75% refund fee
  • • Cancelled course attendance day before: 25% refund fee
  • • All training certificates are delivered by email
  • • All students must be registered and paid in full prior to course date
  • • Registration fee is non-refundable
  • • No personal checks accepted - call to pay by credit card
